Inspecting groundwater contamination prevention structures and monitoring equipments at gas stations and providing the owners advice on reporting monitoring results through internet.

The three major achievements of this Project are as below:
1. Accomplishment of draft amendments preparation of “The Management Rules for Installation and Management of Groundwater Pollution Prevention Facilities and Monitoring Equipments in Gas Stations” and “The Instruction to Application and Forms of Installation of Groundwater Pollution Prevention Facilities and Monitoring Equipments in Underground Storage Tank (UST) System”.
2. Accomplishment of the inspection and appraisal on the installation, maintenance and periodic monitoring of groundwater pollution prevention facilities and monitoring equipments for 186 gas stations and 54 fuel filling systems for self-use; and identification of 77 gas stations with high potential contamination for Environmental Protection Administration’s further investigation.
3. The web site of declaration system has been maintained and its functions upgraded, including:
a. Maintenance of declaration system and internet safety operating;
b. Holding the training courses regarding management system operation for officials of competent authorities;
c. Function renovation and upgrade for declaration and management system;
d. Function planning and evaluation for on-line submission of UST’s installation and completion plan; and
e. Uploading data of pollutant inspection projects conducted in the past few years into the declaration and management system.
